Text For Citation: 01 Item/Group: 002 Hazard:
Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to struck-by hazards related to the use of an unrated below-the-hook lifting device: a) Manac Trailers USA, Inc. @ 8593 Highway 77, Oran, MO 63771: On and before November 25, 2014, employees in the Steel Sub Assembly area were exposed to struck-by hazards in that an unrated, below-the-hook lifting device. Employees used a below-the-hook lifting device, a coupler clamp , to lift fabricated couplers, estimated at 600 pounds, with an overhead crane. The capacity of the in-house, designed and fabricated below-the-hook lifting clamp was unknown.
