29 CFR 1910.305(g)(2)(iii): Flexible cords and cables were not connected to devices and fittings so that strain relief was provided that would prevent pull from being directly transmitted to joints or terminal screws: a) At the recycling facility in Unadilla, GA: On or about November 12, 2014, and at times prior thereto, the employer exposed employees to electrical hazards, in that a live 240 VAC flexible cord entering the Trumbler motor lacked strain relief, as employees operated the power ON/OFF lever at the pull box, and swept the floor near the motor. b) At the recycling facility in Unadilla, GA: On or about November 12, 2014, and at times prior thereto, the employer exposed employees to electrical hazards, in that a live 240 VAC flexible cord entering the Synch-Wash actuator panel box lacked strain relief, as employees operated the UP/DOWN buttons, and walked around the film-floating system. Recycling Revolution, LLC was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent standard, 1910.305(g)(2)(iii), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 589260, citation number 2, item number 7, and was affirmed as a final order on Feb. 13, 2013, with respect to a workplace located at 4190 Collins Road, Unadilla, GA 31091.
