29 CFR 1910.303(g)(1): Sufficient access and working space was not provided and maintained about all electric equipment (operating at 600 volts, nominal, or less to ground) to permit ready and safe operation and maintenance of such equipment: Location: Back storage room The back storage room's electrical cabinet and fire panel are blocked and not readily accessible. The employer routinely fails to assure effective protection against ensuring that access to and working space about electric equipment is unobstructed and free from stored merchandise and other objects as required by the standard, as demonstrated on or about 03/06/2020, where employees were exposed to life safety hazards due to merchandise and objects stored in front of the store's electrical cabinet and fire panel with respect to a workplace located at 450 Nashua Rd. Dracut, MA. Dollar General was previously cited for a serious violation of this occupational safety and health standard 29 CFR 1910.1910.303(g)(1), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 1280975, Citation 1, Item 1a, and was affirmed as a final order on 07/16/2018 with respect to a workplace located at 700 West End Avenue, Carthage, NY 13619. Dollar General was previously cited for a triple repeat violation of this occupational safety and health standard 29 CFR 1910.1910.303(g)(1), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 1158861, Citation 1, Item 3, and was affirmed as a final order on 08/02/2016 with respect to a workplace located at 304 Briarwood Drive, Jackson, MS 39206. Pursuant to 29 CFR 1903.19, the employer must submit documents describing the steps it is taking to ensure compliance; including an explanation of how these steps protect employees from fire and entrapment hazards associated with ensuring electrical cabinets and fire panels are not blocked and readily accessible.
