Text For Citation: 02 Item/Group: 002 Hazard:

29 CFR 1910.212(a)(1): One or more methods of machine guarding was not provided to protect the operator and other employees in the machine area from hazards such as those created by point of operation, ingoing nip points, rotating parts, flying chips and sparks: a) On or about 7/6/2016, The paint line take off conveyors had exposed ingoing nip points formed by the transfer belts in close proximity to the employees stacking off parts into carts. Employees removing these parts from the transfer belts had their hands approximately 8" from the ingoing nip points. Crystal Finishing Systems, Inc. was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent standard 29 CFR 1910.212(a)(1), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 963960, citation number 1, item number 2a and was affirmed as a final order on 8/14/2014, with respect to a workplace located at 2610 ROSS AVENUE, SCHOFIELD, WI. 54476.
