29 CFR 1910.212(a)(1): One or more methods of machine guarding was not provided to protect the operator and other employees in the machine area from hazards such as those created by point of operation, ingoing nip points and rotating parts: a. On or about November 29, 2016, at the plant, first floor of the plant on the northeast side, the employer did not provide safety guards to prevent operators from coming into contact with the in-going lay of the cable as it was being wound on the spool while operating the re-spool machine on the take-up side, exposing employees to caught-in and crushing hazards.
