29 CFR 1910.23(c)(1): Open-sided floors and/or platforms four feet or more above adjacent floor or ground level were not guarded with standard railings (or equivalent) and toe boards: Note: Toe boards are only required when persons can pass, there is moving equipment or there is equipment with which falling materials could create a hazard. a) On or about 7/6/2016, The vertical paint line vertical press #2 platform was missing a 27" wide section of railing on the west end of the platform which is approximately 9' off the concrete floor. This is the area where the paint vault employee operates the orange drain valves twice a week to put air through the system and drain water from the press. Crystal Finishing Systems, Inc. was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent standard 29 CFR 1910.23(c)(1), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 963960, citation number 1, item number 1a and was affirmed as a final order on 8/14/2014, with respect to a workplace located at 2610 ROSS AVENUE, SCHOFIELD, WI. 54476.
