29 CFR 1910.334(a)(2)(i): Portable cord and plug connected equipment and flexible cord sets (extension cords) were not visually inspected before use on any shift for external defects (such as loose parts, deformed and missing pins, or damage to outer jacket or insulation) and for evidence of possible internal damage (such as pinched or crushed outer jacket): (a) Magna Energy Services, 0902 County Road 4, Wiggins, CO 80654: On and before February 5, 2013, the employer did not inspect the outer jacket of the extension cord connected to the large boring machine in the machine shop to ensure the outer jacket was not damaged. This condition exposes employees to electrical hazards. (b) Magna Energy Services, 0902 County Road 4, Wiggins, CO 80654: On and before February 5, 2013, the employer did not inspect the outer jacket of the extension cord connected to the local ventilation on the west end of the welding area to ensure the outer jacket was not damaged. This condition exposes employees to electrical hazards. (c) Magna Energy Services, 0902 County Road 4, Wiggins, CO 80654: On and before February 5, 2013, the employer did not inspect the outer jacket of the extension cord connected to the mobile heater in the west end of the welding area to ensure the outer jacket was not damaged. This condition exposes employees to electrical hazards. (d) Magna Energy Services, 0902 County Road 4, Wiggins, CO 80654: On and before February 5, 2013, the employer did not inspect the outer jacket of the cord connected to the ventilation setup on the east end of the welding area to ensure the outer jacket was not damaged. This condition exposes employees to electrical hazards. (e) Magna Energy Services, 0902 County Road 4, Wiggins, CO 80654: On and before February 5, 2013, the employer did not inspect the outer jacket of the cord connected to the Dewalt grinder located in the southeast corner of the machine shop, to ensure the outer jacket was not damaged.
