Text For Citation: 01 Item/Group: 002 Hazard:

29 CFR 1926.761(b): The employer did not train each employee exposed to a fall hazard in accordance with the requirements of 29 CFR 1926.761: The employer does not ensure employees are able to recognize and avoid fall hazards. This violation was most recently determined to exist at the worksite located at 5336 Central Avenue in Hot Springs, Arkansas, where employees engaged in activities such as but not limited to the installation of metal roof decking had not been instructed on the proper safety precautions to be utilized to avoid fall hazards. Employees were allowed to install metal roof decking at heights greater than 15 feet without the use of fall protection. Pursuant to 29 CFR 1903.19, within ten (10) calendar days of the abatement date, the employer must submit documentation showing that it is in compliance with the standard, including describing the steps that it is taking to ensure employees have been instructed on fall hazard recognition and avoidance.
