29 CFR 1910.1030(c)(1)(iv)(B): The review and update of the exposure control plan did not document annually consideration and implementation of appropriate commercially available and effective safer medical devices designed to eliminate or minimize occupational exposure: a.) DuBois Regional Medical Center DBA Penn Highlands DuBois Neurology - On or about June 20,2016, the annual consideration and implementation of appropriate commercially and effective safer medical devices for devices including, but not limited to, Excel Hypodermic 30g needles, Monoject Standard Hypodermic 30g 3/4" needles, and BD Spinal needles was not documented in the employer's exposure control plan. Employees were at an increased risk of exposure to blood or other potentially infectious materials when assisting practitioners during procedures where needles that were not equipped with safer engineered technology were in use. Evaluations were last documented in 2014.
