Text For Citation: 01 Item/Group: 001 Hazard:
OSH ACT of 1970 Section (5)(a)(1): The employer did not furnish a place of employment which was free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to struck-by hazards from Robopac 5 and Robopac 6 shrink wrapping machines. The automatic guided vehicles were operated in an area that was not clearly marked and the automatic guided vehicles entered into the pedestrian and powered industrial truck aisles. One feasible means to correct the hazard is to clearly mark the non-restricted areas required for the vehicles and program the automatic guided vehicles to work inside the marked area without entering into powered industrial truck and pedestrian aisles. The automatic guided vehicle area should include the clearance necessary for turns and maneuvering as required by industry standard ANSI/ITSDF B56.5-2012 par 4.7.2.
