Text For Citation: 01 Item/Group: 001 Hazard: CAUGHT
North Carolina General Statue 95-129(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of North Carolina: The employer did not furnish each of his employees conditions of employment and a place of employment free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to caught in between hazards: a)job site - an employee who was operating a American Eagle Forklift, model FL-MC-77, was not inside the cab of the machine while the forks were raised. b)job site - an International Forklift, model 4500, B series, that was used to off-load equipment was not provided with seat belt. ABATEMENT NOTE: 1)Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable abatement method to correct these hazards is to: a)lower the load-engaging means (forks) fully to the ground before exiting the operator's position. b)install a seat belt.
