Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety & Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees, in that, employees were exposed to crushing injuries while raising a pre-built wall into the vertical postion and lost control: Jobsite: Addition - gable end. Workers were exposed to crushing hazards while raising a pre-built timber wall to the vertical position and lost control. The wall fell, pinning and seriously injuring one worker under it. ONE FEASIBLE METHOD OF ABATEMENT, AMONGST OTHERS, WOULD BE TO PURCHASE PRE-MANUFACTURED JACKS THAT ARE SPECIFICALLY ENGINEERED TO RAISE THE PRE-BUILT WALLS INTO POSITION AND PREVENT THE WALL FROM FALLING BACK ONTO THE ERECTORS.
