29 CFR 1910.244(a)(2)(i): In the absence of a firm foundation, the base of the jack was not blocked. If there is a possibility of slippage of the cap, a block shall be placed in between the cap and the load. a. On or about February 9, 2018, at the above addressed jobsite, an employee was performing road side tire service on a semi tanker trailer using a floor jack. The jack was not placed on a firm stable foundation due to the accumulation of snow beneath the trailer, thereby exposing an employee to crushing hazards.
