Text For Citation: 01 Item/Group: 001 Hazard:

29 CFR 1910.212(a)(1): One or more methods of machine guarding was not provided to protect the operator and other employees in the machine area from hazards such as those created by point of operation, ingoing nip points, rotating parts, flying chips and sparks. On or about July 7, 2016 and at times prior thereto, employees in the Redraw Department on Machines #16 and #17 were exposed to unguarded pinch points which exposed employees to amputation hazards. At least one employee has suffered an amputation while operating this machine. Bekaert Corporation was previously cited for a repeat violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent standard 1910.212(a)(1), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 1007982, citation number 1, item number 3 and was affirmed as a final order on 05/22/2015, with respect to a workplace located at 1881 Bekaert Drive, Van Buren, Arkansas.
