Text For Citation: 01 Item/Group: 001 Hazard:
29 CFR 1926.501(b)(13): Each employee engaged in residential construction activities 6 feet or more above lower levels was not protected by a guardrail system, safety net system, or personal fall arrest system, or an alternative fall protection measure that meets a provision described in paragraph (b) of 29 CFR 1926.501. The employer is failing to ensure that sub-contractors engaged in residential construction activities 6 feet or more above lower levels are protected from falling with the use of a guardrail system, safety net system, or personal fall arrest system. The most recent example of this is found at a job site located at 17715 Dorcas Circle, Omaha, NE 68130 where the general contractor had sub-contractors working without fall protection on a roof with a fall hazard of over 11 feet to the ground level.
