Text For Citation: 01 Item/Group: 001 Hazard: STRUCK BY
Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to injuries caused by being struck by the operation of defective manure trucks and components: Barn 9 and Barn 2 - The rear directional and back-up lights on truck 315 were not operational. Two mounting straps on the driver and passenger side fuel tanks were broken on truck 321. The side wall on the dump body of truck 321 was severely corroded and in danger of collapse. Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable abatement method to correct this hazard is to replace and repair defective parts and equipment.
