29 CFR 1910.242(b): Effective chip guarding and personal protective equipment was not used when compressed air was used for cleaning purposes: (a) Granite and Marble Designs LLC at 650 E 49th Ave, Denver, CO 80216: On and before March 22, 2012, effective chip guarding was not used when compressed air was used for cleaning purposes. The employer permitted employees to use a compressed air nozzle to remove dust off slabs and from their bodies. This condition potentially exposes employees to projectile hazards from flying debris and respiratory hazards from silica.
