29 CFR 1910.134(d)(1)(i): Selection of appropriate respirators was not based on the respiratory hazard(s) to which the worker was exposed and user factors that affect respirator performance and reliability: On or about May 2, 2023, the employer failed to select appropriate respirators based on the respiratory hazards to which the worker was exposed when employees conducting the scrapping process in degas were exposed to electrolyte, outside of the ventilation system, and were not provided respiratory protection. Employees experienced symptoms from electrolyte exposure including, but not limited to numbness, dizziness, and nausea.
