29 CFR 1910.305(g)(1)(iv)(A): Flexible cords and/or cables were used as a substitute for the fixed wiring of a structure: On or about January 11, 2023, and thereafter, employees engaged in sawmill activities at the worksite located at 33643 MO-6 Brashear, Missouri 63533 were exposed to electrical shock and burn hazards in that the employer did not ensure that flexible electrical extension cords were used as a substitute for the fixed electrical wiring throughout the worksite. Instances of exposure include but are not limited to: Instance 1: A green 3-way extension cord spitter was observed as means of splitting power from a yellow extension cord to two separate power cords for the permanent lighting wiring on the Hurdle Sawmill. Instance 2: An orange extension cord was observed as permanent wiring for lighting on the Hurdle Sawmill. Instance 3: A flexible electrical extension cord was observed as permanent wiring for a security camera.
