29 CFR 1910.305(b)(1)(ii): Unused openings in boxes, cabinets, or fittings were not effectively closed: On or about January 11, 2023, and thereafter, employees engaged in sawmill activities at the worksite located at 33643 MO-6 Brashear, Missouri 63533 were exposed to electrical shock and burn hazards in that the employer did not ensure that unused openings in boxes, cabinets, or fittings were effectively closed. Instances of exposure include but are not limited to: Instance 1: The electrical control box used by employees to turn the top saw and vertical edger on and off had unused openings that were not effectively covered. Instance 2: A switch box that employees utilize to energize and deenergize the top saw and vertical edger had unused openings that were not effectively closed.
