29 CFR 1910.28(b)(1)(i):(1) Unprotected sides and edges. (i) Except as provided elsewhere in this section, the employer must ensure that each employee on a walking-working surface with an unprotected side or edge that is 4 feet (1.2 m) or more above a lower level is protected from falling by one or more of the following: (A): Guardrail systems; (B) Safety net systems: or (C) Personal fall protection systems, such as personal fall arrest, travel restraints, or positioning systems. a) On or about July 26, 2022, the employer did not ensure that employees working in the hotstrip mill on coiler #2 were protected from falling approximately 7 feet by a guardrail system, safety net system, and/or personal fall protection system. The employer was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard or a substantially similar standard in OSHA inspection number 1530380, citation number 1, item number 1, which was affirmed in a final order on December 15, 2021, with respect to a workplace located at 3060 Eggers Avenue, Cleveland, Ohio 44105
