29 CFR 1910.335(a)(1)(i): Employees working in areas where there were potential electrical hazards were not using electrical protective equipment that was appropriate for the specific parts of the body to be protected and for the work to be performed: Facility Maintenance: On, or about, June 16, 2022, personal protective equipment such as, but not limited to, face shields, a fire resistive balaclava and head protection were not required to be worn by employees who performed live electrical work, including trouble-shooting, or who verified that electrical equipment was properly de-energized. Section 6.6 of the Safety and Health program did not require the use of an arc rated face shield and balaclava for maintenance and preventative maintenance work that was performed by mechanics on equipment up to and including 480 volt circuits and equipment.
