29 CFR 1926.652(a)(1): Each employee in an excavation was not protected from cave-ins by an adequate protective system designed in accordance with 29 CFR 1926.652 (b) or (c): a. On or about May 6, 2022, on Burnt Store Road, in Punta Gorda, Florida, employees were exposed to cave-in hazards when working without a protective system in a trench that was 17 to 20 feet long and was approximately 7 feet deep with vertical walls, in Class C soil. b.
