Text For Citation: 01 Item/Group: 001C Hazard:
29 CFR 1910.147(c)(7)(iii)(A): Retraining shall be provided for all authorized and affected employees whenever there is a change in their job assignments, a change in machines, equipment or processes that present a new hazard, or when there is a change in the energy control procedures. a) In May, 2022, the employer did not re-train its Sanitation Supervisor and/or those acting as the Sanitation Supervisor when their job assignment was changed to include responsibility for locking out all production machinery subjected to cleaning and sanitizing by other sanitation employees. Sanitation Supervisor and/or those acting as the Sanitation Supervisor needed additional authorized employee training in energy control methods for that equipment including de-energization sequence and release from lockout, and recognition and use of all energy isolating devices.
