29 CFR 1910.261(a)(3)(i): Industrial lighting was not in accordance with American National Standards Institute (ANSI) Practice for Industrial Lighting, A11.1 - 1965 (R-1970), which is incorporated by reference as specified in 29 CFR 1910.6: (a) At this establishment the employer did not maintain adequate levels of illumination for safety as required in section 6 of the above mentioned ANSI Standard in that the following footcandle readings were taken (LOCATION OF READINGS). On or about 5/1/2018 in the scrubber and NGC Venting areas of the Pulp Mill areas at 4278 Mike Padgett Highway, August, GA: In that the number 3 scrubber area and six (6th) floor platform at the NGC Venting area, the illumination levels did not comply with the American National Standard Institute (ANSI) A11.1-1965, Practice for Industrial for Industrial Lighting, Table I. The lighting in the areas provided was inoperable there by exposing employees who were performing maintenance, service, adjustments, or checking the valves trip and fall hazards. The employer did not maintain adequate levels of illumination for safety as required in ANSI A11.1-1965, Practice for Industrial for Industrial Lighting. OR IN THE ALTERNATIVE, OSH ACT of 1970 Section (5)(a)(1): OSH ACT of 1970 Section 5(a)(1): The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees, in that employees were exposed to trip and fall hazards: In that the number 3 scrubber area and six (6th) floor platform at the NGC Venting area, the illumination levels did not comply with the American National Standard Institute (ANSI) A11.1-1965, Practice for Industrial for Industrial Lighting, Table I.
