29 CFR 1910.184(d): Each day before being used, the sling and all fastenings and attachments were not being inspected for damage or defects by a competent person designated by the employer and damaged or defective sling(s) were not immediately removed from service: a) Maintenance Area, Welding Room, on or about 5/4/17: Alloy steel chain slings were not being inspected prior to use. Three alloy steel chain slings had bent and broken links and had not been removed from service. Abatement documentation must be submitted for this item.
