Text For Citation: 01 Item/Group: 003B Hazard:
29 CFR 1910.219(f)(3): Sprocket wheels and chains which were seven (7) feet or less above floors or platforms were not enclosed: (a) On or about January 28th, 2015, employees in the Mill Shop area of the plant were exposed to potential amputation hazards due to the existence of a number of unguarded chains and sprockets on several machines used in production. The machines included, but were not necessarily limited to, the Panel Glue Wheel machine and the Raimann Gang Rip Saw. Abatement certification is required for this Item. Use the CERTIFICATION OF CORRECTIVE ACTION WORKSHEET for this purpose. NOTE: IN ADDITION TO ABATEMENT CERTIFICATION, THE EMPLOYER IS REQUIRED TO SUBMIT ABATEMENT DOCUMENTATION FOR THIS ITEM. FAILURE TO COMPLY WILL RESULT IN AN ADDITIONAL PENALTY OF $1,000.00 IN ACCORDANCE WITH 29 CFR 1903.19.
