29 CFR 1910.145(c)(2)(i): Caution signs shall be used only to warn against potential hazards or to caution against unsafe practices: Improper use of ladders; unguarded floor openings; stairways with missing handrails; absence of gates, railings, and fall arrest systems; obstructed doorways, stairways and walkways; doorways lac king proper signage. 29 CFR 1910.36(d)(1): Employees must be able to open an exit route door from the inside at all times without keys, tools, or special knowledge. No materials or equipment may be placed, either permanently or temporarily, within the exit route. The exit access must not go through a room that can be locked, such as a bathroom, to reach an exit or exit discharge, nor may it lead into a dead-end corridor. Standard railings shall be provided on the open sides of all exposed stairways and stair platforms.
