29 CFR 1910.28(b)(1)(i): Except as provided elsewhere in this section 29 CFR 1910.28, the employer did not ensure that each employee on a walking-working surface with an unprotected side or edge that is 4 feet (1.2 m) or more above a lower level was protected from falling by one or more of the systems described in 29 CFR 1910.28(b)(1)(i): a) Blast Booth Area: On or about 6/1/2022, employees working on top of the blasting booth approximately 15 feet above the ground below were coupling a tarp to the booth before starting the blasting process. The employees did not wear fall protection nor were guardrails installed. b) Blast Booth Area: On or about 6/1/2022, employees working on top of the blasting booth approximately 15 feet above the ground below were jumping over an approximately two foot gap at the top of the booth to couple a tarp to the booth before starting the blasting process. The employees did not wear fall protection nor were guardrails installed. NOTE: IN ADDITION TO ABATEMENT CERTIFICATION, THE EMPLOYER IS REQUIRED TO SUBMIT ABATEMENT DOCUMENTATION FOR THIS ITEM. FAILURE TO COMPLY WILL RESULT IN AN ADDITIONAL PENALTY OF $1000.00 IN ACCORDANCE WITH 29 CFR 1903.19.
