29 CFR 1910.304(f)(1)(iv): Overcurrent devices for circuits rated 600 volts, nominal, or less, are not readily accessible to each employee or authorized building management personnel. These overcurrent devices are located where they are exposed to physical damage or in the vicinity of easily ignitable material: A recent example of the employer's violative conduct occurred on this occasion: a) 9000 River Rd, Delair, NJ, 08110- Sawhouse, Back of Billet Saw 2: Electrical overcurrent devices were not readily accessible in an emergency situation due to being blocked by items such as, but not limited to, excess equipment, observed on or about 2/28/2017. To abate this violation, the employer must ensure that the space is cleared of excess equipment and kept clear. NOTE: IN ADDITION TO ABATEMENT CERTIFICATION, AND PURSUANT TO 29 CFR 1903.19, THE EMPLOYER IS REQUIRED TO SUBMIT ABATEMENT DOCUMENTATION FOR THIS ITEM, INCLUDING THE STEPS IT IS TAKING TO ENSURE COMPLIANCE WITH THE STANDARD TO PROTECT EMPLOYEES FROM HAZARDS ASSOCIATED WITH THE DELAY IN DEENERGIZING EQUIPMENT IN THE EVENT OF AN EMERGENCY AND A PHOTO OF THE CLEARED SPACE. FAILURE TO COMPLY WILL RESULT IN AN ADDITIONAL PENALTY OF $1000.00 IN ACCORDANCE WITH 29 CFR 1903.19. ALUMINUM SHAPES, LLC WAS PREVIOUSLY CITED FOR A VIOLATION OF THIS OCCUPATIONAL SAFETY AND HEALTH STANDARD, ITS EQUIVALENT, OR ESSENTIALLY SIMILAR STANDARD 29 CFR 1910.304(f)(1)(iv), WHICH WAS CONTAINED IN OSHA INSPECTION NUMBER 1059368, CITATION NUMBER 1, ITEM NUMBER 29c, AND WAS AFFIRMED AS A FINAL ORDER ON 7/5/2016 WITH RESPECT TO A WORKPLACE LOCATED AT 9000 RIVER ROAD, DELAIR, NEW JERSEY, 08110.
