29 CFR 1910.151(c):Where employees were exposed to injurious corrosive materials, suitable facilities for quick drenching or flushing of the eyes and body were not provided within the work area for immediate emergency use: a) Facility: On or about 4/18/2022, an emergency eyewash station on the eastern wall was blocked with pallets of paint, pallets of steel, and boxes. Employees use corrosive materials, including, but not limited to, Macropoxy 646 MR and Targuard, to spray finish steel. b) Facility: On or about 4/18/2022, immediate access to the emergency eyewash located in the northwest corner was prevented as the eyewash was obstructed to less than approximately two feet with metal 55 gallon drums of steel shot on wooden pallets. NOTE: IN ADDITION TO ABATEMENT CERTIFICATION, THE EMPLOYER IS REQUIRED TO SUBMIT ABATEMENT DOCUMENTATION FOR THIS ITEM. FAILURE TO COMPLY WILL RESULT IN AN ADDITIONAL PENALTY OF $1000.00 IN ACCORDANCE WITH 29 CFR 1903.19.
