29 CFR 1910.265(c)(18)(i): Construction, operation, and maintenance of conveyors was not in accordance with American National Standard B20.1-1957, which is incorporated by reference as specified in Sec. 1910.6: Section 6 Design Features, Section 602 Pulleys, Sprockets, Sheaves, Drums, Blocks, and Section 19 Live Roll Conveyor: a) Planer Mill (Live rolls at Strapper infeed); On or about May 31, 2017 and at times prior thereto, the employer exposed employees to caught-in hazards in that the employer failed to provide guarding at live rolls where employees were permitted to cross. b) Planer Mill (Trimsaw infeed); On or about May 31, 2017 and at times prior thereto, the employer exposed employees to caught-in and amputation hazards in that the employer permitted employees to work within 1 foot of an unguarded rotating shaft with keyway. c) Sawmill (Gangsaw outfeed); On or about May 31, 2017 and at times prior thereto, the employer exposed employees to caught-in and amputation hazards in that the employer permitted employees to work within inches of an unguarded rotating coupling and shaft with keyway. d) Sawmill (Trimsaw infeed); On or about May 31, 2017 and at times prior thereto, the employer exposed employees to caught-in and amputation hazards in that the employer permitted employees to work within 1 foot of an unguarded rotating shaft with keyway. e) Sawmill (Edger 2); On or about May 31, 2017 and at times prior thereto, the employer exposed employees to caught-in and amputation hazards in that the employer permitted employees to work within 2 feet of an unguarded rotating shaft, belt and pulley. Dudley Lumber Company, Inc. was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent standard 29 CFR 1910.265(18)(i), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 934646, citation number 1, item number 10 and was affirmed as a final order on March 4, 2014, with respect to a workplace located at 8575 Hwy 280 East, Salem, AL 36874.
