29 CFR 1910.1200(h)(1): Employees were not provided effective information and training on hazardous chemicals in their work area at the time of their initial assignment and whenever a new hazard that the employees had not been previously trained about was introduced into their work area. The employer does not provide effective information and training on hazardous chemicals to employees in their work area at the time of their initial assignment and whenever a new hazard that the employee had not been previously trained about was introduced into their work area. This violation was most recently observed on or about October 18, 2017 at a worksite at 19 Bailey Street, Plains Township, PA when employees worked with chemicals, including but not limited to Klean Strip Denatured Alcohol, Klean Strip Acetone and Lanco Adhesive LA 1928, as well as on one prior occasion as described below. To abate this violation, the employer must provide effective information and training on hazardous chemicals to employees upon initial assignment or whenever a new hazard is introduced into their work area. Midvale Paper Box Company was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard which was contained in OSHA inspection number 1081074, citation number 1, item number 2b and was affirmed as a final order on January 28, 2016, with respect to a workplace located at 19 Bailey Street, Plains Township, PA.
