29 CFR 1910.265(c)(4)(iv): Elevated walk(s) and runway(s), and platform(s) 4 feet or more from floor level, were not provided with a standard railing: a) Planer Mill - Planer infeed catwalk; On or about May 25, 2017 and at times prior thereto, the employer exposed employees to fall hazards of 4 feet 11 inches to the concrete below in that employees were required to work on a catwalk that did not have a standard railing along all open sides. b) Planer Mill - Trimsaw catwalk; On or about May 25, 2017 and at times prior thereto, the employer exposed employees to fall hazards of 5 feet 8 inches to the concrete below in that employees were required to work on a catwalk that did not have a standard railing that included a mid-rail c) Sawmill - Bucksaw elevated platform; On or about May 25, 2017 and at times prior thereto, the employer exposed employees to fall hazards of 8 feet to the ground below in that employees were required to access the log deck and areas around the bucksaw on elevated platforms that did not have a standard railing. d) Sawmill - Elevated platform at Debarker; On or about May 25, 2017 and at times prior thereto, the employer exposed employees to fall hazards of 10 feet 5 inches to conveyor below in that employer failed to provide a standard railing at an unprotected edge present on an elevated platform at the debarker. Dudley Lumber Company, Inc. was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent standard 29 CFR 1910.265(c)(4)(i), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 934646, citation number 1, item number 9 and was affirmed as a final order on March 4, 2014, with respect to a workplace located at 8575 Hwy 280 East, Salem, AL 36874.
