Text For Citation: 03 Item/Group: 005A Hazard:

29 CFR 1910.215(a)(4): Work rest(s) on grinding machinery were not adjusted closely to the wheel with a maximum opening of one eighth inch: a) On or about May 19, 2011 and at times prior, employees were exposed to injury while operating an abrasive wheel bench grinder, where the work rest was not maintained at 1/8 inch from the wheel. Springs Transmission and Automotive, Inc. was previously cited for a violation of the Occupational Safety and Health Standard, or its equivalent 29 CFR 1910.215(a)(4) which was contained in OSHA inspection 313718355 Citation 1 item 7a, issued on April 5, 2010 and became a final order on April 29, 2010 with respect to a worksite located at 3310 Chelton Loop North, Colorado Springs, CO 80909. Abatement Note: Abatement certification is required for this item. See enclosed Sample Abatement Certification Letter.
