29 CFR 1926.1053(b)(1): When portable ladders are used for access to an upper landing surface, the ladder side rails shall extend at least 3 feet (.9 m) above the upper landing surface to which the ladder is used to gain access. a. On or about November 07, 2017, at the above referenced worksite, employees performing residential roofing operations were using a portable ladder with side rails that did not extend at least three feet above the upper landing surface. Employees were thereby exposed to falls of approximately 10'. The employer, Edgar Chavez Sanchez Dba E & G Exteriors LLC / E&G Exteriors / Edgar Chavez Roofing / Edgar Sanchez, and/or Luis Sanchez was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard, which was contained in OSHA inspection number 1152308, citation number 1 item number 4 and was affirmed as a final order on December 23, 2016, with respect to a workplace located at 1007 Stanbridge Drive, Wylie, TX 75098. The employer, Edgar Chavez Sanchez Dba E & G Exteriors LLC / E&G Exteriors / Edgar Chavez Roofing / Edgar Sanchez, and/or Luis Sanchez was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard, which was contained in OSHA inspection number 900396, citation number 1 item number 2 and was affirmed as a final order on July 09, 2013, with respect to a workplace located at 830 Birdle Cove, Stockbridge, GA 30281. There is no abatement certification or documentation required for this item.
