29 CFR 1910.305(g)(1)(iv): Unless specifically permitted otherwise in paragraph (g)(1)(ii) of this section, flexible cords and cables may not be used as a substitute for the fixed wiring of a structure. a) Shipping and Receiving Area: On or about March 28, 2017 and at times prior, the employer exposed employees to electrical or fire hazards by allowing temporary wiring (extension cords) to be used a permanent wiring to provide power for the computer desk in the shipping and receiving area.
