29 CFR 1926.1053(b)(1): Where portable ladders were used for access to an upper landing surface and the ladder's length allows, the ladder side rails do not extend at least 3 feet (.9 m) above the upper landing surface being accessed: This violation was most recently observed on 05/04/2016 at a worksite at 55 Rodgers Lane in Middletown RI where employees were using a ladder to access the work area on the roof, and the ladder did not extend at least three feet above the upper landing surface of the roof. To abate this violation, the employer must ensure that all ladders on the jobsite are properly set up so the side rails extend at least 3 feet above the upper landing surface of the work area being accessed. M & M Roofing LLC was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent standard 29CFR 1026.1053(b)(1), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 902477, citation number 1, item number 3 and was affirmed as a final order on 2-13-14, with respect to a workplace located at 215 Tudor Lane in Manchester CT.
