29 CFR 1926.652(g)(1)(ii): Shields shall be installed in a manner to restrict lateral or other hazardous movement of the shield in the event of the application of sudden lateral loads. On or about June 15, 2023, at 640 Michigan Street in Omro, Wisconsin, employees were exposed to potential struck-by hazards working from inside a trench shield at 8 feet deep without securing the shield for lateral movement.
