29 CFR 1910.184(i)(9)(iii): Synthetic web sling(s) with snags, punctures, tears, or cuts were not immediately removed from service: a)9000 River Rd, Delair, NJ- Building 8, Crane 1319, Shipping Area: Employees lifting bundles of finished aluminum product were using Liftall slings which had been damaged sling# 304515-6 had a tear down the center which was approximately 4 inches in length and the center thread was broken, sling # 304515-7 contained a two inch hole towards the upper portion of the gray padded area, and an approximate 8 inch split down the center on the other side of the padded area, or about 4/16/15. b)9000 River Rd, Delair, NJ- Building 4, Crane 2010, Extrusion Area: Employees lifting bundles of finished aluminum product were using Liftall slings which had been compromised to the point of showing red indicator thread, the edging threads were ripped, there was a hole the through to the other side approximatley2 3/4 inches in size, and the eyelet was ripped, observed on or about 6/23/15. c)9000 River Rd, Delair, NJ- Building 4, Crane 2009, Shipping Area: Employees lifting bundles of finished aluminum product were using Liftall slings which had been compromised to the point of showing red indicator threads, there was dime sized hole on the side of the yellow stripe which led through to a larger hole, approximate size of a quarter, observed on or about 6/23/15. Aluminum Shapes LLC was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent standard 1910.184(i)(9)(iii), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 315978676, citation number 1, item number 3(c) and was affirmed as a final order on 5/3/2012, with respect to a workplace located at 9000 River Road, Delair, New Jersey. NOTE: IN ADDITION TO ABATEMENT CERTIFICATION, THE EMPLOYER IS REQUIRED TO SUBMIT ABATEMENT DOCUMENTATION FOR THIS ITEM, FAILURE TO COMPLY WILL RESULT IN AN ADDITIONAL PENALTY OF $1000.00 IN ACCORDANCE WITH 29 CFR 1903.19.
