29 CFR 1910.132(d)(1): The employer did not assess the workplace to determine if hazards were present, or were likely to be present, which necessitated the use of personal protective equipment: a) On or about May 19, 2011 and at times prior, the employer did not perform a hazard assessment to determine the types of hazards present in the work environment and identify the types of personal protective equipment required to be used to protect employees exposed to hazards such as, but not limited to, hazardous chemicals, burns, flying chips and particles, and lacerations. Abatement Note: Abatement certification is required for this item. See enclosed Sample Abatement Certification Letter. Springs Transmission and Automotive, Inc. was previously cited for a violation of this Occupational Safety and Health Standard, or its equivalent 29 CFR 1910.132(d)(1), which was contained in OSHA inspection 313718355 Citation 1, Item 4a issued on April 5, 2010 and became a final order on April 29, 2010 with respect to a worksite located at 3310 Chelton Loop North, Colorado Springs, CO 80909.
