29 CFR 1926.1053(b)(13): The top or top step of a stepladder was used as a step:(a) The employer does not protect each employee from fall hazards while working from ladders. a. The employer does not protect employees from falls from the top and top step of stepladders while performing residential carpentry operations. This was most recently documented on March 4, 2024, at the jobsite of a residential home located at Lot 21, 8647 Chilton Ct., Frankfort, IL 60423. An employee was performing framing work from the top of a 6-foot A-frame ladder, thereby being exposed to a 6-foot fall hazard. Dromin Construction Inc. was previously cited for a Serious violation of this Occupational Safety and Health standard 1926.1053(b)(13), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 1544412, citation number 1, item number 4 and was affirmed as a final order on January 19, 2022, with respect to a workplace located at 8529 (Lot 31) Blue Stone Ct., Frankfort, IL 60423.
