29 CFR 1926.1052(c)(1)(ii): Stairways having four or more risers or rising more than 30 inches (76 cm), whichever is less, were not equipped with one stair rail system along each unprotected side or edge: a) On or about October 16, 2023, employees were using a stairway to access the roof from the third story. The stairway that was utilized was not equipped with a stair rail system thereby exposing themselves to falls. North Shore Framing Inc. was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent standard 1926.1052(c)(1)(ii), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 1656841, citation number 1, item number 1 and was affirmed as a final order on July 12, 2023, with respect to a workplace located at 1708 Oak Ave., Evanston, IL 60201. North Shore Framing Inc. was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent standard 1926.1052(c)(1)(ii), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 1613708, citation number 1, item number 2 and was affirmed as a final order on December 28, 2022, with respect to a workplace located at 2140 N Rockwell St., Chicago, IL 60647. In accordance with 29 CFR 1903.19(c), abatement certification is required for this violation (using the CERTIFICATION OF CORRECTIVE ACTION WORKSHEET).
