29 CFR 1926.102(a)(1): Employees were not provided with eye and face protection equipment when machines or operations present potential eye or face injury from physical, chemical, or radiation agents: a) On May 5, 2022, an employee was exposed to eye injury while operating pneumatic nail gun without eye protection during framing work. b) On August 22, 2022, an employee was exposed to eye injury while operating pneumatic nail gun without eye protection during framing work. Araujo Construction Corp., was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent standard 29 CFR 1926.102(a)(1), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 1338497, citation number 1, item number 2 and was affirmed as a final order on October 18, 2018, with respect to a workplace located at 3504 N. Bell Ave., Chicago, Illinois 60618. In accordance with 29 CFR 1903.19(c), abatement certification is required for this violation (using the CERTIFICATION OF CORRECTIVE ACTION WORKSHEET).
