29 CFR 1926.453(b)(2)(v): A body belt was not worn and/or a lanyard was not attached to the boom or basket when working from an aerial lift: As of January 1, 1998, subpart M of this part (1926.502(d)) provides that body belts are not acceptable as part of a personal fall arrest system. On or about February 3, 2023, on the southwest side of a building, two employees were exposed to a fall hazard while welding angle iron onto a steel beam from an aerial lift without wearing a harness with a lanyard attached to the boom or basket. Sonny Steel Erectors, Inc. was previously cited for a violation of this Occupational Safety and Health Standard 1926.453(b)(2)(v), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 1489852, citation number 1, item number 2 and was affirmed as a final order on October 27, 2020 with respect to a workplace located at 4507 West Davis St. Conroe, Tx. 77304. Sonny Steel Erectors, Inc. was previously cited for a violation of this Occupational Safety and Health Standard 1926.453(b)(2)(v), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 1395413, citation number 2, item number 1 and was affirmed as a final order on July 2, 2019 with respect to a workplace located at 1765 & 1769 S. Friendswood Drive, Friendswood, TX 77546. Sonny Steel Erectors, Inc. was previously cited for a violation of this Occupational Safety and Health Standard 1926.453(b)(2)(v), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 1365903, citation number 1, item1 and was affirmed as a final order on February 27, 2019 with respect to a workplace located at 7202 N.
