29 CFR 1910.1200(h)(1): Employees were not provided effective information and training on hazardous chemicals in their work area at the time of their initial assignment and whenever a new hazard that the employees had not been previously trained about was introduced into their work area: a.) The employer is not training employees on hazard communication while employees are working with and around hazardous substances including, but not limited to, liquid propane, various grain dusts/combustible dust, PB penetrating catalyst, and magnesium oxide. This violation was most recently observed in production areas located at 73 Canal Street, Albion, PA on or about, February 10th, 2016 where employees are performing work operations with and around hazardous substances including, but not limited to, liquid propane, various grain dusts/combustible dust, PB penetrating catalyst, and magnesium oxide. To abate this ongoing violation, the employer must provide hazard communication training to employees while employees are working with and around hazardous substances including, but not limited to, liquid propane, various grain dusts/combustible dust, PB penetrating catalyst, and magnesium oxide. The employer may utilize information related to hazard communication from the OSHA website located at www.osha.gov. The Mattocks Five, Inc. dba Albion Mill was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent standard 1910.1200(h)(1), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 930190, citation number 1, item number 3b, and was affirmed as a final order on 10/21/2013, with respect to a workplace located at 73 Canal Street, Albion Pa, 16401.
