29 CFR 1910.132(d)(1): The employer did not assess the workplace to determine if hazards were present, or were likely to be present, which necessitated the use of personal protective equipment. (a) Facility at 310 Bourne Avenue (building 50) in Rumford, RI: On or about May 15, 2023, the employer did not assess the workplace to determine if hazards were present, or were likely to be present, which necessitated the use of personal protective equipment for employees that perform work tasks, including but not limited to, spray painting and fiberglass work, thereby exposing employees to flammable organic vapors which may affect the brain or nervous system and respirable dust which may cause cumulative lung damage. Amaral Custom Fabrications Inc. was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard, 29 CFR 1910.132(d)(1), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 1670157, citation number 2, item number 1a and was affirmed as a final order on 12/13/2023, with respect to a workplace located at 310 Bourne Avenue (building 50) in Rumford, RI.
