Section 5(a)1 of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish to each of his employees employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to struck-by hazards: On or about 03/05/2010, employees were exposed to a BOBCAT brand, model S220, skid steer loader that did not have a working reverse signal alarm and had damaged and inoperable taillights at 3800 SW 142 Avenue in Davie, Florida. On or about 03/17/2010, employees were exposed to a CAT brand, model 236, skid steer, that did not have a working reverse signal alarm and had damaged and inoperable taillights at 3800 SW 142 Avenue, in Davie, Florida. On or about 03/17/2010, employees were exposed to a CAT brand, model 248, skid steer, that did not have a working reverse signal alarm and had damaged and inoperable taillights at 3800 SW 142 Avenue, in Davie, Florida. On or about 03/18/2010, employees were exposed to a CAT brand, model 236, skid steer, that did not have a working reverse signal alarm and had damaged and inoperable taillights at a Publix parking lot at University Drive and Peters Road, in Plantation, Florida. On or about 03/25/2010, employees were exposed to a CAT brand, model 236, skid steer that a defective reverse signal alarm and had damaged and inoperable taillights at the Publix parking lot at University Drive and Peters Road, in Plantation, Florida. Among other methods of abatement, one feasible and acceptable method to correct these hazardous conditions would be to provide working reverse signal alarms and taillights on the skid steer equipment. PLEASE NOTE: CERTIFICATION OF ABATEMENT IS REQUIRED FOR THIS VIOLATION.
