Text For Citation: 03 Item/Group: 001 Hazard:
29 CFR 1910.303(b)(6): Unless identified for use in the operating environment, conductors or equipment were located in damp or wet locations; where exposed to gases, fumes, vapors, liquids, or other agents that had a deteriorating effect on the conductors or equipment; or where exposed to excessive temperatures: On or about October 28, 2024, the employer did not ensure that the 480-volt flexible wiring from an electrical distribution panel to an electrical motor for the tub grinder was enclosed in a raceway or other electrical enclosure that was designed and intended for use in an outdoor damp or wet location to protect the enclosure with wiring from deteriorating from outdoor elements. The employer used a wooden make-shift raceway to contain and partially support the electrical wiring. The flexible wiring was not installed in a listed enclosure intended to protect the wiring from outdoor elements.
