29 CFR 1910.134(k)(6): The employer did not provide the basic advisory information on respirators, as presented in Appendix D of 29 CFR 1910.134, in written or oral format to employees who wear respirators when such use was not required by the employer: Maintenance: On or about October 18, 2024, employee(s) conducted non-routine drywall operations where silica particulates were airborne. Employees wore voluntary use N95 respirators. The employer had not provided the respirator user(s) with the information contained in Appendix D, which potentially exposed employees to silica and other inhalation hazard(s). The Navy Gateway Inn & Suites was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard, 29 CFR 1910.134(k)(6), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 1707422, citation number 1, item number 2, and was affirmed as a final order on January 04, 2024, with respect to a workplace located at 2450 McHugh Street, BLDG 3362, San Diego, CA 92136.
